Our Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Blue Penguins Pukekura, we know that despite the best intentions, things can happen.

If you need to make a change to your booking, please contact us on blue.penguins@pukekuratrust.org and we will accommodate your request when we can.

REFUND POLICY

In purchasing a tour with Blue Penguins Pukekura you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

  • A full refund (minus a 2 % transaction fee) will be paid if you cancel your tour more than forty-eight (48) hours of your scheduled tour start date.

  • Cancellation requests received less than forty-eight (48) hours but more than twenty-four (24) hours will receive a 50% refund.

  • Cancellation requests received less than twenty-four (24) hours of the tour will not be refunded.

  • Refunds will not be paid if you do not arrive at the pre-arranged meeting points at the correct time.

  • OUR PENGUIN GUARUNTEE We see Blue Penguins about 99% of the nights. In RARE events such as during heavy fog or an occasional night in the non-breeding period, we might see fewer than 5 birds during the tour. These are rare events. At Blue Penguins Pukekura we will offer refunds of 70-100 % of the tour price if less than 5 birds were seen (for DIRECT bookings only via our website). The % refunded amount of 70% or 100% changing depending on which tour is booked (If less than 5 birds were seen). Please see additional information listed under each tour.

CANCELLATION DUE TO BAD WEATHER

Blue Penguins Pukekura operate tours in most weather. In extremely windy or wet conditions we reserve the right to cancel the tour. ALL cancellations made by Blue Penguins Pukekura will result in either a full refund of the tour fee or the offer to transfer your booking to another night.

COVID-19 - Update as at August 2023

There are no restrictions for Blue Penguins Pukekura to operate tours. Mask wearing is now a personal choice.
